About Me
I'm Ying-Ling Liu, a licensed counseling psychologist and clinical social worker based in Taiwan. My professional background includes both social work and counseling psychology, along with clinical experiences in individual, marriage, and family therapy. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the complexity of life’s challenges and the importance of both the individual and environment. As a therapist, I pay close attention to the dynamics between my clients and me, and always value the quality of our therapeutic relationship.
I place great emphasis on how unresolved family traumas can impact an individual—especially in areas such as emotional regulation, self-worth, and current relationship issues with partners and family. I believe that a safe and supportive relationship is the foundation of transformation, and I am deeply committed to creating a therapeutic space where clients are seen, heard, and recognized. I'm a psychodynamic-approached therapist, which means I would work collaboratively with clients to gain deeper understandings of themselves. Together, we explore how early family experiences contribute to current struggles, and how to move toward what you really want to be.
One of my speciality is marital therapy. I would guide couples in exploring the interplay between their relational patterns and their experiences in family of origin. Through this process, couples have better chances of mutual understanding, healing, and intimacy. In the safe therapeutic space, I strive to help both partners reconnect with the themselves and each other tenderly.
